Women's Game

Women's Game

Women’s Game tells the story of pioneers in South America, Asia, and the Middle East who, through sport, are claiming new spaces of freedom and confronting major social challenges. Powerful and inspiring—at times deeply moving, yet always driven by a shared energy and momentum—it shows how sport can become a tool for empowerment, solidarity, and social transformation. The documentary questions women’s place in the public sphere, highlights struggles against inequality and discrimination, and reveals the strength of sharing and passing knowledge on. These courageous and accessible initiatives are transforming lives and challenging society.

A century ago, most sports were off-limits to women. Even today, sport remains a field largely dominated by men. Yet it is also a powerful driver of empowerment and the promotion of equality around the world.

This paradox makes it a fascinating point of entry: beyond performance, many women are using sport to tackle major challenges—education, peace, inclusion, equality—and transforming society.

Worldwide, 49% of girls drop out of sports at puberty.
