Play International
Sport Sans Frontières, now known as PLAY International, was founded in 1999 on the firm belief that sport is both a fundamental right and a means of addressing the challenges facing our societies.
In short, it transforms the sports field into a real-life school to bring about lasting change in the behaviour of future generations.
In practical terms, its work is based on three main pillars:
- Educational design: It creates themed sports games (known as ‘Playdagogy’) to raise children’s awareness of critical issues: health (obesity, hygiene), citizenship (combating discrimination, gender equality) and the inclusion of refugees.
- Field training: The association trains education professionals (teachers, educators, youth workers) so that they can implement these active methods with young people in schools or community centres.
- Humanitarian and social action: Operating in France and internationally (Kosovo, Burundi, Senegal, etc.), it works in vulnerable or post-conflict contexts to promote “living together” and psychological resilience through movement.
- Social innovation: Through its “Playlab”, it supports other organisations in incubating innovative projects that combine sport with social impact.
